I thoroughly enjoyed reading this heart warming sweet romantic story. It revolves around a young couple deeply in love. At seventeen Joyce believes in a good old fashion marriage, but that doesn’t fit in too well with the reality of today. The relationship goes through many ups and down. I felt with Joyce and admired her for the strength she showed when the fairy tale dream she had pictured didn’t happen and things slowly changed. She found her own power and became a strong woman who could take care of herself. A great story of a woman fighting for love and how she matured in the process. Debbi McClatchey has written a wonderful true to life story.

I received this book as a gift for my birthday. Kevin or Rob? What do you do when love is challenged? I liked this story of a young woman who discovers her strengths when her marriage begins to deteriorate. Does he really love her? He did...once upon a time, but he has a hard time expressing himself. Joyce uses her talents to survive after her decision has been made. A new man enters her life and well…you'll have to read what happens next. I found the characters well done, and enjoyed the page-turning romance very much. Looking forward to more from this author.
Second Chances is a pleasurable story, skillfully written by Deborah McClatchey. It opens with a scene that is too perfect to sustain for a lifetime “The day was incredibly beautiful, life was incredibly beautiful, and seventeen-year old Joyce was carzy in love.”

When her great romance is revealed to be flawed, Joyce Wesfield finds herself ready for a change, which puts her in a dilemma should she resurrect what is left of her marriage to the husband who betrayed her trust, or fight for the new relationship with the charming Kevin Munday?

Through it all, you will pray for her to establish her own independence, as a baker and a business person, and a woman.

This was an enjoyable read. Much drama in the relationship between plus-size Joyce Westfield and her husband, Rob. She thought she had it all. Then her marriage starts to crumble as her husband is starting to have some issues. Is it her weight? She wonders.

Joyce is an incredible baker and decides to take her wares on the ’road’. Eventually, she realizes she can make it on her own, much to Rob’s chagrin.

​ ​Not to give out any spoilers, but Joyce eventually meets a man who truly cherishes her and who will she end up with? Her perspective on life and love changes. I liked this book as it’s a page-turner. You want the best for Joyce. Well-written and I highly recommend. I’ve read another by this author an enjoyed it as well.

The Great Sam Smith currently dominating the music industry with a force of nature sang beautifully about this topic, and the Great Indie author Ms. Deborah McClatchey have joined the ranks and stung the literary world with her rendition of infidelity.

This book breaks my heart as Sam Smith Hot 100 Single did. But this book was more profound as while Sam Smith indisputeably has one of the best musical voices in the last decade, he only had about four minutes to keep me in his trance, while "Second Chances" had me up until late in the night.

I am so broken and torn but the wounds were taken care of with the ending, its something I can live with.

Its not easy living with something like that, your partner, someone you said marriage vows with being unfaithful to you, giving away so freely what rightfully belongs to you, it does something to you as a woman, it hurts you in so many ways, psychologically, emotionally and on so many deeper levels, it voilates your very womanhood and leaves you questioning yourself and to catch your husband/man in the act is just far more dreadful and Deborah penned it in the most groundbreaking way, this novel is a game changer and a relief from all the cheesy romance you are accustomed to reading. This book tackles real life issues we face today as women and when marriage vows are broken, its never an easy road. This book will move you in inexplicable ways. This is not a sales pitch, its a review and I highly recommend you read this book for yourself.

When Joyce finds out the love of her life, her husband Rob, is cheating on her she is devastated. The rest of the book follows Joyce as she makes some hard decisions. During the course of her journey, she finds she is much stronger than she realized. This is an empowering and hopeful story.

Author Deborah McClatchey has written an engaging romantic drama. Great read!
Marriage for Joyce Westfield was not the fairytale romance so many women dream of. Troubles begin brewing with a cheating husband. Seems her figure took on a few more pounds after marriage and he wasn’t happy about that. Joyce finds out he is cheating and decides to seek out her own happiness. Well, here comes the drama- she must choose to stay with hubby or go with Kevin, a man who treats her like a real woman. As I have been blessed with a wonderful and stable marriage I do enjoy reading about these so true- to- life novels
