This is the concluding book in the Elite Guardians series and fans of the series should not be disappointed though it would have been interesting to learn the back story on some of the later additions to the group. Haley's story is interesting and the various potential suspects and the overlapping of personal and professional just adds another layer to the suspense. I can honestly say I was left guessing up to the big reveal.

For readers who haven't previously read any or all of the books in this series don't worry you won't get lost as each book focuses on a different character or characters. Each story builds on the previous one much like one's own life - time passes and new acquaintances enter while others leave. The old and new in your life don't have to meet in order to enjoy (or not) spending time with you. So take the time to get to know Haley as she uncovers secrets from her past.

As with all Lynette Eason books, this did not disappoint. I highly recommend this book.

This is about Haley getting into trouble from a 25 year old cold case - how can that happen? - well I am so glad you asked - no way - I cannot ruin it and tell you - you have to read it for yourself - I will tell you for the fan of the Haley stories - you finally got what you have been waiting for - plus a sweet sweet surprise.. This has been an incredible series and the latest installment delivers - just like the three previous books! One thing I love about any series I read is that each book can be a "stand alone" - you haven't had to read the others to enjoy this one. In this book Haley Callahan, an Elite Guardians bodyguard, becomes involved with a poor family in a bad, possibly dangerous, situation while a 25 year old cold case brings up questions about Haley's childhood. With all the questions and close calls threatening Haley and those close to her, Detective Steven Rothwell gets involved and is determined that he will help Haley through this. Twists, turns, and a touch of Ireland thrown in, this novel is full of suspense and keeps you guessing until the end! If you like suspense with a touch of faith and romance, this novel is for you!
Haley has always had nightmares of another life that seem so real. Now, Twenty-five years later, Haley is finding out that those nightmares are real. Someone killed her family all those years ago and now they have found Haley and are determined to get rid of her as well. From the moment Steven meets Haley he is captivated. Especially by her Irish brogue that comes out now and then! Steven marvels at Haley's strength and positive attitude when life has been so hard. Steven's brother was killed years before, so he is no stranger to heartache. Steven doesn't know why, but he is drawn to protect Haley as one attempt after another is made on her life.

I enjoyed this last book of the Elite Guardian series. Haley grew up on the streets, but yet she is not tainted by that upbringing. I loved the suspense throughout the book. The action kept the book moving along and the relationships developed at a quick pace. I love a strong female character and Haley was a perfect fit for the Elite Guardians. If you haven't read this series I highly recommend it!
